Hi everyone!
For our short story unit, we are going to be using a website called Edmodo. On this website, you will read and discuss short stories with your classmates. It will be your responsibility to answer the discussion questions and post replies.
To Do on Wednesday, May 7th:
- Go to the Edmodo website. Read the question I posted about the short story, A Warm Safe Bed, and respond. If you are not comfortable responding on the forum, you can type up your response and email it to me at [email protected] or print it off in class.
- Once you are finished your response, which must be at least 5 complete sentences, you can work on your Compare and Contrast Essay.
To Do on Monday, May 5th:
1. You will be assigned a group number.
2. Once you log on, go to that group and respond to the question. You may expand on what your classmates wrote but you cannot copy them.
3. Post one thoughtful question from the story to your group.
4. Respond to one question from a classmate in your group.
5. Read through questions and responses in the other groups.
6. Remember, you are being marked on this. Please only post respectful replies. This is not the place to have a conversation with a classmate.
To Do on Friday, May 2nd:
1. Go to https://edmo.do/j/chmgj4 and create an account.
* Our group code is: yiaswy
2. Personalize your account. Pictures must be appropriate! Remember your username and password.
3. Respond to the question posted from... On the Sidewalk, Bleeding.
4. You will be marked on the quality of your response. That means you need to write more than one sentence and really think about the question. See below for evaluation.
5. The group is private so will only been seen by our class.
Expectations:
- You must contribute to discussions. After each short story, I will let you know what you need to do to respond.
- You must participate respectfully. That means no swearing, rude or negative comments to your classmates.
